There are days when I am positively amazed and awed by God’s creation. I hope this is something that never changes in me. I walked outside this morning to a sky with early morning rays of sunshine illuminating everything at a perfect angle. The puffy clouds in the sky just struck me as the most perfect painting I had ever seen. This view stopped me in my tracks. I just had to laugh and give God some glory. He sits enthroned in Heaven and paints beauty everyday for us to see, enjoy, and know that He is Lord of all creation.
Yesterday there was an abundance of storms and showers in my area. When the thunder and lightning strikes, it definitely reminds me of God’s power– and I like it. At a certain time in the evening, the skies parted briefly on the distant western horizon. It was still pouring rain directly over me, but there was this amazing sunshine invading the sky from the west. This of course produced the brightest and most glorious of rainbows. I never tire of seeing a rainbow and it amazes me every time in its beauty and the reminder of God’s promise to Noah and all of creation. It also reminded me of some lines to a poem/song I’ve mulled around in my head. Really, there are only two lines so far. I hope to complete this work, but I’ve not yet flushed it out of my brain.
You’re like a downpour from clear blue skies
You’re like the sun and the rain in my eyes
